Thanksgiving Leftovers

Not for me of course! But a local hawk that we happen to stumble upon as we were driving through downtown St. Louis during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Chow Time!

Thanksgiving in St. Louis

This year we decided to try out a new big city for Thanksgiving. Last year we ventured out to Kansas City and had a great time (did I say chilly too?). This year we also had a wonderful Holiday. We stayed at a hotel next to the Mississippi River and ate a traditional meal at the Hemp Mansion. It was a very cool atmosphere with an all you can eat traditional meal. Yes, we all ate tooo much! Dad also got to play some poker at the casino that we stayed at. Mom and Meg woke up at 4am to catch all those early bird deals on Black Friday. CRAZYgirls! So, Jordan and I slept in. We took the kids to the City Museum (which is very cool place!) on Saturday for the day. I would describe it as an eclectic mixture of children's playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel made out of unique, found objects built inside an old 10 story shoe factory bldg. All in all, we enjoyed our 4 day trip and got to drive all the way home in snowy weather. Did I say it was cold there too??

Easter Day

Today is Easter! We returned home from a weekend trip to Tulsa today to celebrate Easter and to have an Easter egg hunt for the kids. It was a little cold/windy outside (in the low 50's) so we didn't hesitate to hurry back inside to see what the Easter Bunny put inside the eggs. The kids made out with some yummy candy and a few dollars in change! Each of them also found their Golden Egg which had a $5 bill in it. We did miss our annual tradition of going out to AZ to see the grandparents but we still had fun starting a new tradition.

Where's that Easter Bunny?

It's almost Easter, so we all had some fun coloring Easter eggs. Meagan picked out the camoflauge decorating set while Jordan picked out the silly faces design. They had a fun time decorating them and are looking forward to their Easter egg hunt in a few days!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today the kids did not have school so we met up with mom for lunch and went to the Celctic Grill. Dad wanted to get some green beer and shepards pie while the kids got to enjoy their new green getup! And you thought we lived in the south...It's gangsta style out here!

Jordan turns 7!!

For Jordan's 7th birthday party he wanted to celebrate with his school friends. He decided that he wanted to have his party at Locomotion. It is similar to a Boomers or Family Fun Center with video games, laser tag, go carts and mini golf. He had a great time with all his buddies, especially on the go-carts! The weather was cool (in the 40's-50's) but sunny. Our boy is getting so big!

Snow Day..No School...Yippee!

Today was a family day at home due to the snow storm that blew through. We have had some pretty dramatic weather changes that we have been adjusting to. Last Tuesday I left class around 11am and it was about 70 degrees and sunny. I spent about an hour or two running a few errands and came back home to find the temperature had dropped to 30 degrees and we we had some scattered snow showers! Crazy!

The kiddo's got to enjoy making their first snow angels before it got too dark. The next day was a funfilled day of sledding and making a cool snow man!
